with Girls Write Nashville
Girls Write Nashville is a creative community where teen artists develop their voices through songwriting, production, mentorship, and collaboration. We’re always looking for adults who want to be part of that mission — whether as volunteer supporters or teaching artists working directly with students.
🙌 Volunteer Roles
We occasionally call on volunteers to support events, help with outreach, or lend a hand with behind-the-scenes logistics. These roles are perfect for folks who believe in our mission and want to contribute their time and energy in a meaningful way — no music background required.
🎤 Teaching Artist Roles
Teaching artists are the heart of our programs. If you’re a songwriter, musician, producer, or creative educator with a passion for working with youth — especially those from communities historically excluded from the arts — we’d love to hear from you.
We welcome a wide range of creative backgrounds. You don’t need formal training — just a strong commitment to mentorship, youth voice, and creative justice.
We especially encourage applications from women, BIPOC artists, LGBTQ+ creatives, and people with lived experience relevant to the communities we serve.
What to expect
Most teaching opportunities happen after school (3–6 PM) or on weekends during the school year.
Our programs are community-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in culturally responsive education.
All new teaching artists are trained and supported by our team.
Volunteers are contacted as opportunities arise.
